If you’re like me you love two things more than anything in this world, Data and Vinyl Records. Ok ok, maybe data isn’t that high on the list but come on, some statistics are cool. Especially when we’re talking about records. Did you know Tokyo has twice the number of record stores than NYC of all places. Or that the Netherlands seem to have more record stores per person than any other country on earth. Weird right?

Our friends over at Discogs and their sister site VinylHub have some great data that’s worth a look if you’re into that kind of thing. I know I am!

The World’s Most Remote Record Store, And Other Cool Stats

Over at our sister site, VinylHub, the community is working hard on cataloguing all of the world’s (brick and mortar) record stores. Because the data is community-contributed, it is of course also community-owned and accessible under a creative commons license, just like on Discogs. Of course, these statistics are only as accurate as the data itself.

Crosley Cruiser Turntables

Constructed of wood and bound in a leatherette material, the briefcase-styled record player is lightweight and easily transported from place to place. It features built-in stereo speakers so you can listen to your music without having to connect it to a speaker system.
